This piece is for young band. It is playable at the end of the first year but should be useful for somewhat older musicians as well. Listen as the drums and pipes of a distant (or ancient) Celtic band approach from a distance (the mists). Use your imagination. Is it early morning or long ago?

• The clarinets do not cross the break.
• The trumpets have optional notes to top space E but those notes are not required.
• The low reeds and brass have two parts rather than one.
• All winds get some use of sixteenths but it is limited to two repeated notes.
• Percussion have the most challenging part but it is repetitive enough to make it easier. And they'll like playing it.
